My computer always turns back on about ten minutes after I turn it off. Anybody know why? It's really annoying.
Thanks
Tim

Just for interest, my old motherboard was causing a similar thing. The capacitators were shot, besides some other weird stuff, my PC would boot when ever it liked.

Some time back, while working on my powered off PC box, the phone rang - and my PC started up.
So it may be not just the Wake on LAN setting (monitoring the RJ-45 connection) that does it.
Yes, check throughout your BIOS settings for these two conditions.Whatever doesn't kill me, merely ticks me off. (Never again a Sony consumer.) -

(I just couldn't remember the term/words to look for in the BIOS.)
Can you imagine my surprise when I had my machine open, plugged in and looking around in its guts when the phone rang and the machine turned on?
That's when I learned about the Wake on ... features!Whatever doesn't kill me, merely ticks me off. (Never again a Sony consumer.)
