    Can anyone provide feedback based on there experience with this unit? It is now being discounted and seems a good buy. Are there shortcomongs that the Toshiba RD-XS55 might address?

    use "search forum" for rd-xs55 or 54 (top bar). There's been some threads about them. There are some VERY happy users here... what's the deal on it?

    Looks like it can only do a slow burn from HD to DVD-R. The manual for the 54 says it takes at least 1.5 hours. That's slow for a high-end machine. Or maybe I missed something.
