  1. Hey there.

Been capturing heaps of PAL HDV footage to my computer the last week.

I export the captures to different MPEG-2 files, and they go into TMPGENC DVD Author perfectly, which I'm happy about, but I then realized I might want to edit them into Adobe later on, and thought I should check if they can be imported in.

Adobe keeps on freezing up whenever I try to import them.

Anybody know what the problem could be?

What kind of MPeg2? DVD standard or HDV?

Can you preview them in the bin?
If so, make a short clip, pull it to the timeline and render the workspace.

  3. DVD,

Nah, I can't preview it at all, as soon as it gets imported, the program closes on me.

Does this differ from MPeg2 files from other sources? Is there something different about a MPeg2 file sourced from HDV vs. another? In other words, is this a technique problem or a file problem?

Also, is Premiere "freezing up" or is it calculating?
