  1. I have several VIDEO_TS files that I have been trying to burn as DVDs but I get a message that they are encrypted with CSS. I have never run into this before this past week. I am using Toast 7.0.1. Is there another way to burn the files? All of my searches here haven't helped.

    Thanks.

Sounds like the VIDEO_TS -folders- (not files, right?) were Finder-copied rather than "ripped" using something like MacTheRipper or 0seX; hence, the encryption was never removed. Not sure if it's too late to rectify this. Others will surely chime in on this soon.

You can remove CSS from a VIDEO_TS folder on a HDD using YadeX.

or try dropping the VIDEO_TS folder into Toast,
on the DVD From VIDEO_TS folder tab,
and then go File-->Save as Disc Image.

Then, after the disc image is made, re-mount using
Toast. Then rip the disc image with Mac The Ripper,
to a diffrenet location. Once done, trash the original.

  5. Toast rejects the files out right. No chance of making a Disc Image that way.

I have an old version of Yadex. Is there a newer version available?

    And what is a HDD?

I think YadeX ceased development at version 0.99. Any of the versions will remove CSS if that is truly whats going on with your folder.

HDD = hard disk drive ... as opposed to HD, which is high definition.

You could always use MacTheRipper to remove CSS (this is what I regularly use, never had any problems! Just make sure to play the DVD in Apple DVD Player. I don't know why exactly, but if I haven't then sometimes it gives an error when ripping)
