  1. Hey guys, i've been having problems with burning a DL dvd. I have authored the DVD using DVD-Lab Pro and then use Nero 7 to burn to Verbatim 2.4x DVD+R DL using my Sony DW-D56 DVD-writer.

The problem is with the menu when played back in my Sony DAVS-500 dvd player.
The menu does not appear on screen and i cant seem to see anything, however if i press play the movie plays fine, but its when i try to see the menu it just doesn't work??

Anyone with any advice or tips would greatly appreciated

So you are putting in the disc, and when you do,nothing happens. Or does the disc start playing by itself ? I am not familiar with DVd-Lab Pro but i know in TMPGEnc DVD Author there are setting of what to do first (ie: play first track,go to main menu,go to track menu) so i would guess that somewhere you are missing a setting.

  3. When i put the disc in, it goes to the menu and thats what i have set it at, but the problem is i cant see the menu, or it doesn't show up for some reason!!
But if i press the play button at this point the movie will play !! Unfortunately i have 11 episodes of a TV program on the DVD, and i need the menu to navigate !!!

    Please help

Does the menu show up when you play it on your PC at all ?

Explore the VIDEO_TS folder and be sure there is a VIDEO_TS.VOB file which is normally the menu file. then just click on it and see what happens.

I honestly have no idea then what could be wrong. Either DVD-Lab isn't doing something to standard or the DVd player is not doing something right. Tried it on more than one DVd player ?

How about burning with something else than Nero? I remember someone mentionning here
that Nero might of messed up a menu on a disc....

For dual layer, you should consider using PGCEdit and IMGBurn.. it will let you place the layer break and then burn your disc correctly

Well, the first thing you want to know about forums and such is that what you just did is commonly referred to as a "threadjack",that is posting something completely off topic for your own benefit with an off topic question.

You need to go to the main forum page and start your own topic,or "thread",and ask for your help there.

    Good Luck !!
