Yesterday I "encountered" a problem most weird. I was going to watch a movie, it played for a fraction of a second (pretty much showing only one frame) - and then the screen went black. Though, the audio was still playing.

Now, I didn't change anything in my system except my visual style in Windows which shouldn't interfere with Zoom Player whatsoever, right? Anyway. I noticed that the current video renderer was none other than the standard renderer. So I changed it to overlay mixer. And the video was working again.

The next day (which is this one), I was going to watch an AVI video clip, and when I did, the colors were all messed up. This only happens with movies encoded with the Microsoft Video 1 codec, but the picture came out normally before, with the standard renderer selected.

Anyhow, I tried the VMR7 renderer, and the AVI file had its normal colors again.

BUT - here is the real issue. In all renderers (overlay, VMR7, VMR9) except the standard renderer, some video files will play ultra fast upon seeking, which is something i regularly do. It takes a few seconds for the video to slow down to normal pace. Something tells me that the video file is trying to catch up with the timeline, or something, which leads me to think that something is wrong with the seeking or that the timeline is "labeled" incorrectly, or that the hardware acceleration is fubar.

So, to fix this, I need to find a way to fix the standard renderer, or to fix the fast-play issue. I prefer going with the latter since the picture quality is much better in VMR7 or VMR9. Is there someone who can shed some light on this for me? Thanks.
