I personally am a bit tired of seeing white or yellow subtitles, and they need to have some sort of outline / shadow to make sure they are readable in all circumstances.
I was thinking about acid green / lime green, but it looks a bit too... contrast-y.
What colors have you used?

White and yellow-orange are most readable. Try high luminance blue or green. Avoid dark colors.
