I shoot and edit event videos. A piece of software I use creates DVD's for tributes. Its good but does not have very many options. What I need to do is reauthor the DVD so that the main body of the video will repeat when selected. The creation application will not allow this directly and it does not use any external authoring software. I think that this can be done by editing the IFO files but have not been able to find out how.
If anyone has suggestions, I would appreciate it.

    Thanks,
    Devlyn

If you have the VIDEO_TS folder on your hard drive, you can edit it with PGCedit. Left-click on the TITLE in the left hand side (it will be the one with a time that corresponds to the video playing time. If you have multiple Titles, then click on the one that corresponds to the "last" one that you want to loop. In the right-pane you will see pre/post/cell commands that correspond to that Title.

-Left-click on the line that says POST COMMANDS
-then right-click/add after (this will insert a NOP command)
-then double-click the new NOP command line, a command popup window appears
-use BY TYPE/JUMP TO/VTST TTN... (it's the last one in that menu, then click OK)
    -File/Save DVD

Then try playing it back using a software dvd player to see if it loops when it hits the end (because it goes into the POST commands, and the first thing you are telling it to do is jump to the Title beginning with the new command you just inserted)

Depending on your Authoring software, you might have to modify the commands slightly because they might have certain GPRMS that need a specific value before playing a title. But try the above first to see if it does what you want...

    Thanks George,

It will be a few days until I get to try this, but will post here to let you know.

  4. I have a first play title that stop after it is done playing. I tried the above because I would like this DVD to loop playback now instead of stopping.
Once I followed the instructions above the video still stops after playing.

Am I doing something wrong or is there another way to do this?

    Thanks

  5. I finally got it to work. I started over and tried it again and it worked. I guess I wasn't doing something right the first time.
