Another doctor this time right?? They aired the most recent season on canada's cbc. That was a pretty good series for someone who's never seen it like me.
Donatello - The Shredder? Michelangelo - Maybe all that hardware is for making coleslaw? -
yeah, it's another Doctor this time but there was a Christmas special with him and he wasn't so bad
-
Please tell me the girl is coming back at least?????
Donatello - The Shredder? Michelangelo - Maybe all that hardware is for making coleslaw? -
yeah, both have signed up for the next series after this one also.
you think Billie Piper is hot?. She looks like a chipmunk to me but at the right angle she's not that bad
-
I'm such a great fan of Dr. Who
.
.
Wow. You're kidding me.. some of you guys are just getting this ?
We got it in March, and we are in the 4th episode. I've been recording
them to VHS tape in EP mode(they will repeat) but I did record a
few on DV tape as well. But, for now, I was planning on continuing on
this path w/ VHS and in either EP or else SP mode. (Last night, I recorded
it in EP mode)
** Ours is on SciFi channel, on Fridays at 9pm, and repeats at 12am
** Then, on Monday, its on again, at 8pm. (not sure if this is reguar pattern)
But, this is plenty of time for me to get it right, on VHS tape or whatever
makes me happy.
Last nights episode was another great one. Those aliens were so *******
fake, I couldn't get enough of them. But they did use some computer-gen
animation or special effects in some of the chasing scenes. I love this show.
(this was a funny episode, because they were FARTING, and the english
people (with their English accent) pronounced the "FART" word funny -- its
like they are saying it, "FOTTING" ) Anyways.
you think Billie Piper is hot? . She looks like a chipmunk to me
but at the right angle she's not that bad
know.. I just fell in love her now, hehe) And, I just love, love, love
this show. I'm from the Tom Baker ERA. He was my favorite, when they
aired this show (on cable) back in 1986 I think. Anyways.
They have replaced the Dr. with another one. I'm just glad that the
girl, (Billie Piper - a pop singer artist) is staying on. I really like
her. Trust me, the girl grows on you.. she did, me.
FWIW..
I'm still banging my head on the IVTC part with TMPGenc and/or AVIsynth.
I using TMPGenc's Pattern Generator, or AVIsynth's SelectEvery() function,
respetively.
But, untll I get the IVTC figured out perfectly, I'll just continue to
record them to vhs tape and in EP mode for the time being..

OT here..
MackemX, regarding the link you provided.. are these clips you can't D/L
to your HDD, cause I can't seen to find them on my HDD after waiting 30
or so minutes for them to stream. It nows plays smoothly.. so it must
be on my HDD somewheres - oh, but wheres ??

Hey.. Our start date here in NTSC land (NY) was Friday, March 18th.
It was a two-hour showing. (they showed two episodes. I have a few test
samples that I was keeping as a momento to the head banging I've been
recieving on my incomplete IVTC thing) anyways.
I am ahamed or a little disapointed that the current Dr. is leaving.
But, from what I read, he was leaving on account of too much time was being
taken away from his personal life style.
Next week, the Daleks are comming. So, get ready. Sit tight. And and..

@vhelp, are you watching the 1st new series with Christopher Eccleston as the Doctor?
the latest Doctor, David Tennant has just agreed to be in the 3rd new series after this 2nd series which starts next week in the UK -

The press force a couple of issues too; David Tennants tenure as the time lord had to be announced at midnight, because a newspaper had gotten hold of the news and was going to make it front page news the next day.
They don't always get it right though: according to the Daily Mirror, Billie Piper was to leave Doctor Who halfway through the second series "plunging the new series plans into chaos!" She has just signed for series three.
As it is, to avoid any spoilers for future episodes, you mustn't buy any newspapers, avoid the internet and run out of the room, fingers in ears going la-la-la over any DW related stuff that appears on telly, to make sure that you don't hear anything to spoil the new series.

there's the other clip on the BBC site that shows the clips from episodes throughout the new 2nd series. I won't say who but a couple of notable old favourites are making returns 8)
@Cole, Because of that we are still not relegated. I'm around 7 miles from the ground and before 4pm it was clear and sunny
p.s. did you watch the Boro match Thursday? 8) -

Anyways.. I agree.. Magnificent epsisode indeed. I especially liked the
part at the begining, you know where.. with the Doctor. Magnificent.
I wish we could see Davros (spelling) but..
And, I wonder how they would make him look, vs. what your pic demonstrates
(your avator) him, back in the day of Tom Baker ERA. (I hope they introduce
Davros into the story somewheres)

Whether or not Davros comes back remains to be seen (no spoilers from me!).
As for what they could make him look like; well in all honesty, if they were to bring back Davros I can't really see that they could make his face much different, but I imagine that the hardware part of him (the Dalek base and the controls, the cybernetics) would probably be brought up to date in the same manner as the new Daleks look much better than the old ones.

Back on topic: did you see the Doctor Who previews on BBC Interactive (digital channel 302)?
On that basis, this series is going to be better than last.Cole -
no, I have Freeview and I must have missed it
. I forgot that they have extra stuff on the BBCi but at the moment it's football and snooker
no doubt there will be something on later -

it's Series 2 as Christopher Eccleston only lasted the first series of tyhe new Doctor Who. There was a Christmas Special that had the new guy in but this is his first full series starting in 20 minutes
-
Visually stunning; the story was a little lightweight but fun, but I think that was on purpose. Rather like last year's series, I think it will get better and scarier as the series goes on.
Seriously looking forward to the Cybermen episode.Cole -
I agree. The stories are getting better, as they unfold. Even the acking
is, also. And, last nights episode, "The Long Game" was great, IMHO. I really
enjoyed this episode.., not to mention last weeks epsodie, "Dalek". It
was a fantastic episode indeed
-vhelp 3920 -
Turns out our Royal family are all werewolves
-
The second series so far has been visually stunning; strangely many have been bemoaining the CGI (from what I have read) as not being good enough, but bearing in mind the sheer amount of CGI that is being used, I sometimes wonder what people expect.
"Tooth and Claw" went at a breakneck speed and was very entertaining.
Have to admit that Rose was beginning to be irritating in this episode; all that trying to get Queen Victoria to say "we are not amused" got on my nerves a bit, especially when used at tense moments, shattering the atmosphere.
Maybe the humour was being used so that it wasn't too scary for the little ones watching...
Looking forward to seeing Sarah Jane next week.Cole -
Hey Cole,
Hope you all don't mind my small OT here, but..
Gotta question for ya. Are you archiving (capturing) the series at all ??
I ask, because then I wanna ask another.. what is the outcome of your captured
source, ie.., is it:
** 25i
** 25p
** 25i w/ a PAL telecine (if that even exist in your region)
** or, you just don't care to bother eather way.
I'm new to the PAL side of things, and it's been a big problem with me
and my Doctor Who capture and process routine. BUT, I have sense finally
figure out the PAL->NTSC conversion, and now am getting *better* results
than I was before, and seem to have settled down with a consistant
routine to process them by. Anyways. I'm just curious.
Our's here, (w/out going into great detail) is a mixture of conversioned
frame sequences that go something like this:
** 5 semi-blended frames and 1 progressive, or
** 4 semi-blended frames and 2 progressive, or
** 4 semi-blended frames and 1 prog/inter + 1 prog/inter
** 3 semi-blended frames and 3 progressive frames
** and other slight variations not yet 100% certified (defined)
But, I tell you, there are other monstorous Dalek-like skeams that'll have
you pulling your hair out over here in NTSC land, unless you settle down with
a comprimise.
fwiw, believe it or not, I'm actually recording the episodes to VHS, some in
EP and others in SP, for later processing to DVD. I realize you all think I'm
nuts taking such a BIG step backward, but please understand, that this is my
video hobby, and as such, I do as I please
-vhelp 3921 -
Vhelp, with Procoder 2, you can have it set to create interlaced frames between the progressive ones, assuming you IVTC the PAL captures. I tried that recently with some 23.976 and 25fps progressive sources that I converted to 29.97 interlaced, and was very impressed. It looked fine.
