Can someone please refer me to a one button solution for converting several divx files to a single DVD. I don't want to have to download this encoder or that or whatever the heck TMPG is that everyone and their brother seems to use.
I just want a free one button (everything included) solution that you don't need a masters degree to figure out.
Thank you.

if you searched for tools that convert avi to dvd you wouldd get the following list:
https://www.videohelp.com/tools.php?convert=AVI+to+DVD&search2=Search+
it even tells you wheter its freeware or not in the same page.I love it when a plan comes together! -
Try the freeware version of ConvertXToDVD. (DivxToDVD) You only need an Associate Degree to use it.
If you like it, buy the full version. $30. If you want the best quality and much more control of the finished product, download and learn to use the 'whatever the heck TMPG is' product or similar. All-in-one solutions tend to be limited in what they can do and what quality they can produce. -
ricardouk I've already done that and I can't find anything. I've been wasting my time installing programs that are written liek crap and require X Y and Z other programs to work even though they state they are one-click solutions.
I want something:
easy
free
one thing to install
requires little to no knowledge of anything to run. -

I haven't been on this board for four years only for that reason though.
I just got frustrated I can't find anything easy to use and I don't know why no one has created something like that already. There are those of us who don't care that much about what encoder we use or this or that, we just want to go from point A to point B as fast and easy as possible.
I think it's just that some software developers forget not everyone else out there is a software developer. Not everyone wants to have to multiple encoders or command line interfaces. Some of use just want to get it done and move on with the rest of our lives without making a hobby out of it. -
Try AVI2DVD. I just tried it and it works great where DIKO had failed on me. If you have Multiple AVI's, follow this tip hidden in the help screen
Code:2) In avi mode if you have an avi/mkv/ogm with parts cd1, cd2, cd3... you can load as unique avi renaming the avis like this : Matrix CD1.avi Matrix CD2.avi Matrix CD3.avi etc... renaming your files like this avi2dvd will join these avis automatically and wil produce an unique film . This is valid also for ogm/mkv.

Have you tried ConvertXtoDVD ?
If not, stop whining and try it. If you have, what's your problem with it ?Read my blog here.

all this tools have guides here at videohelp to guide you on your conversion.
or you can try;
fit2cd+Quenc
some people recommended the old/freeware version of divxtodvd but by personal experience i find Quenc/HCenc/Freenc freeware output a lot better than their convertxtoDvd commercial software.I love it when a plan comes together! -

Not really much help, but I sympathize -
...and I'd say max 2-3 hours of video on a single layer DVD. 3 hours would be at 1/2 D1 resolution.

I have a simple enough solutioin.
Buy a stand alone DVD recorder.
Many computer video cards have a TV out on them. Plug the TV out from your computer's video card to the video input on your stand alone DVD recorder. Plug the audio out from your computer's audio out to the audio input of your stand alone DVD recorder.
Now anything you play on your desktop be it a DivX or XviD or WMV etc. can be recorded this way.
This might actually be a cheaper solution than buying multiple DVD players with DivX/XviD support and in the end you have a DVD-R that can be played on any DVD player whereas some XviD files will not play on some DivX/XviD enabled DVD players. So this method solves incompatability issues.
That's about as simple as it is going to get.

Just get a divx dvd player. Make a data disk of your films. Player creates a menu. No converting necessary.
