I was drawing a picture in a graphics program and I saved it as a project file. I had been working on it for about 5 weeks! Just now when I saved it, it froze, so I ctrl-alt-del and tried to reopen that project file again. When it opened, I got a blank canvas! All my hard work!

I checked my project file and it's still 275KB so the data can't be gone right? Is there a system restore? I restarted once and it's still a blank canvas. I have Windows 2000.

I did not find any TMP files with a ~. However, there is a TMP file that was created very close to the time of the crash. What do I do with the TMP file?

    It's a Japanese program, ComicWorks600. It doesn't have a forum.

Make a new dummy project and save it.
Check the file extension of your saved project file.
Rename the *.tmp file with the project file extension and try to open it.

It won't open. Which means it's not my file. So it's seriously lost? This sucks. They should really hire better program checkers. And I should learn to backup.

Thanks. But no luck. Oh well. I think I'm going to buy the less buggy version that's actually released in America. Who knows when that will be because it's so expensive.
