  1. I went to a ftp and downloaded a movie..

I ended up with 3 archive folders..
Now when I extract the arcives.. I get
6 files... Now there are 3 parts of the movies, for each part of the movie there are 2 files.. 3 of the files are .dat , and 3 are .cue.
Now I extracted the .cue files and got a folder.. here is what was in the folder
    five folers
    CDI
    EXT
    MPEGAV
    SEGMENT
    VCD
Now MPEGGAV had a .dat in it that was a movie, wich was the movie I wanted.. So I took that .dat file and converted it into 1MPEG..

From there I have a mpeg.. and did what the website said when using NERO.. I get a cd that acts like its gona play but doesnt.. so what am I missing?
    anyone?

  2. Firstly, CUE/BIN images are disc images. I don't understand this obssession people have with extracting things out of them to burn. If you do so, you loose any menus, etc., that where in the original VCD.

All you have to do is burn the CUE/BIN image: http://www.geocities.com/medinotes/vcd/burning_cuebin_images.html

As for your playback problem, it sounds like your DVD player wasn't designed to play CD-R/W media. If this is the case, then you will have to experiment with different brands of CD-R/W media to find one that works in your player. Often CD-RW works better in these cases.

If you plan on buying a new DVD player, be sure to buy one that explicitly states in the manual that it is both S/VCD compatible AND CD-R/W compatible. S/VCD compatibility means a completely different thing.
