Hey i just have a few questions about the process of DVD authroing. You will have to excuse me as I am very much an audio guy and not such a video expert; however, going into the business of DVD-A/DVD-V Hybrid authroing for surround-sound presentation of audio material has made it necessary for me to know a few things about video.

Mainly i need to know what exactly constitutes a VIDEO_TS folder. I need to create this folder to specs in order to import it into the DVD-A authroing program. to allow for DTS, AC3, wave and Meridian Lossless material on one DVD-A/V hybrid disc.

I need to know how to "export" if you will some still frames looped with fades or whatever and the DTS,AC3, and wave files all layered together into a VIDEO_TS folder for import by the other software.

I am running PC for this as this is the only option for high-resolution DVD Audio production/authoring. I have found that Adobe Encore DVD will allow for DTS files to be imported as well as the AC3 and wave....for some reason, i guess DVD Architect will not do this.

Please excuse my ignorance on this one...i just need some help and specs to get going on this.

Thank you all SOOO very much for any assistence you could give me!!!

The first place to start is to the upper left: 'What is' DVD. If you look towards the bottom of that page, you will see the DVD folder structure. At the bottom, some links to more technical references.

You should get some more replies that may address your particular questions.

    And welcome to our forums.

A lot of programs have photo slideshow options. There you could put together a collection of pictures and match them with the audio of your choice. Though I believe some will have restrictions on audio. Some may not like DTS. But its pretty much plug and play. You could practice with a free app like windows movie maker (only outputs wmv). But you can setup transitions and fades and whatever and add your soundtrack to it. For a regular dvd authoring application it would give you the ability to create a menu and then process the pictures and sound and output the video_ts and audio_ts (audio_ts is empty on a standard dvd) for burning.
