I have a number of old vhs tapes that I want to archive. I have a decent vcr, a Vidicraft Detailer III and an Asus TV FM tuner card for capturing purposes. I want to archive the VHS material to miniDV tape. I plan to purchase a minidv cam with pass-through capability. My question is would it be best to capture using the capture card or directly to the minidv cam? The Detailer III seems to really boost the quality when using my capture card. Would it be appropriate to use this when capturing directly to the minidv cam? Thanks.
