XVCD TO VCD HELP PLEASE

Hi
I was encode with tmpg and a template xvcd a mpeg file
and i created with nero.Then i copy the mpeg file from the cd and i try to reencode the file with vcd template with tmpg but i got a message about unsuported format.
What can i do to do it again vcd format?

did you burn a vcd with the xvcd mpeg file?

in that case you need vcdgear (www.vcdgear.com i think) and convert the .dat on the cd to an mpeg on your harddrive . even though windows will play the .dat file as if it were a mpeg file it is NOT. so it must be converted to mpeg by vcdgear. use the .dat to .mpg option

if you just burned the mpeg on a data cd (ie ISO option in nero) then it should work fine.. ALTHOUGH

some tmpgenc versions dont handle mpegs as sources very well.. you would have to frameserve with virtual dub
