I have a DVD with 7 episodes tapped from TV. There's a menu, chapter-like to choose which episode to watch.

Problem is that navigation is a mess. Starts with 1 episode highlighted, and I can go to 2 and three by pressing right. So far so good. Next line is episode 4 to 6, and the bottom row has episode 7 and a return button.

When I press down from ep.1 it jumps to ep. 7, instead of ep.4. Pressing right doesnt bring me to return button as expected but to ep.5.

    Any suggestions?

dvdremake pro would be the easiest method to fix it.

pgcedit is free but not easy...click on it for some guides.

Thanx, but that's exactly the kind of answer that I do not need. I got all tools. What I need is an explanation on HOW to do it!
As I've mentioned elsewhere, dvdremake pro is a very fine tool, but the documentation is a joke!!

OK, managed to fix it with DVD Remake pro. Amazing good program, but it takes time to figure out things.

I've actually found the documentation to be quite good, and there's forums and a support email address AFAIK also.

It's good to hear that you managed to work it out by yourself - and certainly much more beneficial to your own knowledgebase than having someone here spoonfeed you with a guide.
    If in doubt, Google it.

Rip the entire thing to hd .
Open this dvd in folder on hd with pgcedit .

Take a snapshot of what is displayed within pgcedit's gui using mwsnap .
May need to take several snap's so I get a complete picture of what is shown .

Pm me when that's done for email address to send snap's too .

From here I can return the nav command's required back to you .

You simply input them , and enjoy .

    Simple ...

After reading what has been happening ... that's very funny , not to you , but for me , yes ...

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Your problem is within the button nav command's , very simple to correct , just swap them about .
Make sure the menu with B's on it (button number's) dont have conflicting nav command's (if in doubt , chuck those out) .

When done , save and play test it before burning .

If button's for chapter menu still not working correctly , then you need to re-edit them again .

To me , what you have is a dvd chapter menu that dosent know it's right from it's left ...
Very similar to user's I try to help over the phone to fix their pc's ... instead of a quick 20 minute fix .. I am stuck on the phone for an hour or more ...

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Take a look at some of the guide's I have created , many have pgcedit info that would help you locate your particular issue .
