I purchased a philips 642 that can play AVI files. I have sucessfully burned 1 AVI episode to a CD-r using Nero (made a VCD). The problem is that I am trying to burn multi AVI to a DVD+r media without sucess.

I first tried to burn a Data DVD via Nero, no dice. The player was trying to load the disc before spitting it out, coaster #1. Then after searching on this forum, I read that I should burn as a ISO Data disc. Tried that with the same results, coaster #2.

    Any help would be great.

Data DVD is the way to do it. Just plain data disc with AVI files. Or is 642 one of those beasts that expect every DVD to be a Video DVD?

    Mats,

I'm not sure what you're asking but the 642 plays DVD-Video, video CD, audio CD, JPEG image CD, and CDs loaded with MP3, MPEG-4, or DivX 3.11/4.x/5.x files.

I did try burning a Data DVD and ISO Data DVD via Nero and it did not work.

    Data DVD should work.
I'm just pointing out, that some players, even if they play DivX, XviD, mp3 and whatnot, do so only from CD, and not from DVD. They expect every DVD they see to be a Video DVD, and rejects it when it doesn't find the DVD structure.
