  1. Hello

I have an AVI file and it will not play back in Windows Media Player but it will in VCL.

    I have

    AC3 filter 1 01a rc5
    3ivx D4 4.5.1
    Xvid 1.1.0.30Divx 6.1.1

    installed

I have tried to convert it to mpeg using DVDSanta but it will not load it just says "unable to load". I have tried to convert it to Mpeg using Main Concept but it says there id NO AUDIO.

If i run it through AVICodec it says the Video is " Video : 310 MB, 1009 Kbps, 23.976 fps, 608*336 (16:9), XVID = XVID Mpeg-4, Supported" and the Audio codec is " Audio : 39 MB, 128 Kbps, 48000 Hz, 2 channels, 0x55 = MPEG Layer-3, Supported"

If i run it through G-Spot it says Audio Format:
    Code: 0x0055
    Name: WAVE_FORMAT_MPEGLAYER3 (MP3)
    Vendor: ISO/MPEG

The following codec should be capable of processing this format:

    --> {Fraunhofer IIS MPEG Layer-3 Codec (advanced)}

DirectShow was also able to find a codec to render it - the sound for this media clip should work fine.

See the DirectShow Render details for more info.

But Rendering Fails every time and the Audio doesn't render at all.

Has anyone any ideas what i can do to sort this out. ?

If i install the K-Lite codec pack it WILL play in Media Player but DVDSanta detects an error and needs to be closed down.

It is driving me mad and i am desperate to convert to Mpeg to put onto a DVD

    any help appreciated

    thanks
