I would like to know how to convert avi, mpg, etc in dvd with the option to choose sizes.

like i downloaded i software but it wouldnt save file less than 4.7 Gb,
i dont have enough space for i need a software which can convert into different size.
eg: 600mb avi file into 1 gb dvd format with the option of menus as well.

is they anyway or do i have to convert into 4.7 gb dvd format???

No. There are numerous guides to be found under CONVERT left, AVI to DVD. Look for guides using TMPGEnc, CCE, MainConcept or other dedicated mpeg encoder, which lets you specify what bitrate (and hence file size) to use.
Most oneclickwonder type of applications try to maximize quality by utilizing all available space on the DVD, resulting in a full single layer DVD regardless of what you feed it.
That said, expect 3-4 times AVI size when reencoded to DVD to maintain quality, if the source is DivX/XviD.
