Hi,
I spent HOURS reading here and downloading and installing software to no avail......
I was wondering how to do what i think must be easy but seems difficult. I can rip DVD/VOB's to my hard drive no problem. But then i might want to cut out a couple scenes for my personal enjoyment. This seems very difficult. I can find programs to make cut points but then I have to take time to re-code it which seems like a waste of time. Also I can make avi files no problem but of course that means recoding as well.
Ideaslly it would work like NanDub, a simple preview window where I can make marks hit go and a few seconds later there is a edited vob.
I would love to know what easy free tools there are like on this site as well as pay software from companies like ULEAD etc. I have the hardest time finding a tool that specifically does this!
Thanks alot.

Maybe VOB2MPEG then Cuttermaran? Both freeware. There's probably a lot of ways. You shouldn't have to re-encode it, but you will have to re-author it if you want it back in DVD format.

Yeah, there are a bunch. Personally, I'm partial to MPEG2Cut. Others prefer ChopperXP:

Don't know why you had trouble finding a tool that does what you want. -
Womble MPEG Video Wizard! It's a bit expensive but worth it, and it has a 30 day free trial

videoredo!
or cut with dvd shrink in the reauthoring mode.
