    Anybody know a basic Sony DVD player that has the zoom function? "Zoom" doesn't seem to be a spec that is commonly listed. The player doesn't even have to have 5.1 (my receiver will take care of that). Thanks!

    I quite sure all Sony DVD players do zoom. Make sure there is a "zoom" button on the remote before you buy. Better players do 1.5 Zoom, so you can watch 1:2.35 theater widescreen movies with less black border.

    I am surprised after all those products miss have/steps Sony have, there are still people looking for Sony gears.

    That is my hope ... to fill the screen on the 2.35:1 movies. I know a lot of people disagree with cutting off any part of the movie, but I prefer to fill the screen.

    You need a Samsung or a JVC. I don't think Sony do zoom 1.5x, another miss by Sony.
