i accidentally click on the update for MCAFEE virus scan update so that it would update to MCAFEE privacy center. once i had finished download, my whole computer seems like it had been corrupted. i am no longer able to go on the internet. my internet is on, but it just won't let me go on mozilla firefox/internet explorer.

before that happens, i had been experiencing problems with my internet explorer as well. for example, when i go to www.yahoo.com and try searching for "computer hardware" i wasn't able to type anything in. now when that MCAFEE privacy center pops up everytimemy computer turns on, it said... internet error and i am suppose to type my password in, but since they uses the internet explorer screen, i wasn't able to type in anything.

if i can find a way to solve the internet explorer problem so that i can type the password. in another word, when i go on the site, i can't type anything on there. thanks :]

There was a big McAfee problem recently where it was deleting MS office documents, finally someone recognized M$ as a virus, lol.

Sounds like you have two problems. First, I would uninstall/patch McAfee to correct your internet access. The second problem could be security settings related. Try resetting all of your internet security settings to default.

The best solution that I found was to get rid of the piece of crap software and install AVG7 free.

Haven't had any problems since and it actually catches trojans that try and infect my computer. Something that McAfee never did.
