Can you tell, before you start to make your backup copy, what protection a disc has? The reason I ask is that, for me, getting past arccos adds another step...another 10 minutes...and if I could tell whether or not it had that type of protection, I could rip accordingly.

Load in dvd decrypter (or dvdfab decrypter). It will tell you if any other protections are present.

Another alternative is DVD43. If you use DVDShrink it's more convenient as it decrypts on the fly and runs in the background. It's not updated as often as DVDFab Decrypter, though. As long as it's running, you don't have to worry about the type of encryption. It does not get along well with DVD Decrypter if it's running at the same time and you are using DVDD to burn, though. If you use the Nero option, no problems.
