I did a clean install of Windows (which I upgraded to XP Home SP2) and all my applications. Instead of using the Camedia software that came with my Olympus C-3000 digital camera to transfer my pictures via USB to my PC I wanted to do the transfer with Corel Paint Shop Pro X. I got an error within Corel saying that my camera needed a WIA device driver. I did a little searching on the web and found that MS had built that driver for my camera but had to disable it because of demands by Olympus. The capability still exists in Windows but was just commented out in an ini file. All I had to do was remove the semicolons in the two lines highlighted below in the file srusbusd.inf located in ..\WINDOWS\inf. Then uninstall the Camedia drivers and install the srusbusd drivers. The only thing that took some time was tracking down the srusbusd.dll file on my Windows XP CD. I can now see and transfer pictures from within Corel Paint Shop Pro X. It makes you wonder what other functionality like this exists in Windows but has been disabled by being commented out? Or are these things just hidden features of Windows?

  2. with newer olympus cameras (probably others as well) they come up as USB mass storage devices so you can just drag and drop anyway. No drivers required.
Corned beef is now made to a higher standard than at any time in history.
The electronic components of the power part adopted a lot of Rubycons.

My C-3000 is 3.3 megapixels and almost five years old. But we're still happy with the pictures that it takes.

  4. Yeah I had one of those and they do take good pictures (better than my newer c350z) but the size and weight meant I couldnt discreetly carry it around.
