Ok this is really starting to piss me off I bought this TDK IndiDVD 440N 4X DVD±R/RW Multi Format DVD Burner and thanks to it I have been able to backup almost all of my DVD movies but recently it has been messing up. I'm using Nero Buring Rom and a green light on the burner stays on to show that it is burning properly but after awhile for given reason the green light will shut off and stop recording and therefore leave a cd useless I have no idea what could be casuing this problem thats why I need your guyes help please help me
Cheers![]()

Internal or external drive?
If external, what type of enclosure/connection is it using?
If internal (IDE) how is it set & what other devices are on the IDE channels? How are they all configured?
Do you have that pesky 'auto-insert notification' turned off for this drive?
What other tasks are you performing concurrently while the DVD's are being burned?
Please post back with more details so we can assist.
Cheers!

One more thing to add. Nero creates a log when it burns that should detail what the error was or why the burn didn't complete. Take a look at that and see if it gives any hints. Post it if you like, but make sure to mask out your Nero serial number from it.

Are you doing anything else wth your computer when you are burning these discs, or are all other programs and applications closed down when you attempt your burns? In other wrds, do you surf the web or play solitaire (or have some other program active) when you are burning your discs?
Please give us more info, I don't think this is too difficult to figure out, ok?
If you need further assistance, we're here for ya.

oh my fault its internal its the master drive and no I don't do anything I only have 256MB of ram
Thanks
Cheers -
Looks like you aren't the only person having problems with this drive - please refer to the link below:
http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/37072
I wonder if you can upgrade your version of Nero to v7 if you'd have the same problem. Also, have you tried another Burning program with these same DVD-R discs? If another burning app has the same problem, it might be the media iitself.
Have you tried a different media in your drive? Go to the TDK support site and see what brands of media are compatible with your drive and try one of these in your burner - what results do you get? If it still burns nothing but coasters, then I'd start to suspect the drive itself.
Pst back with what you've done to remedy this as I've outlined above so we can see your results, ok?
Cheers!

thanks so much! Ill try all that and find out what the problem ill make sure to report back

Ok this is the deal I posted on cdrom-guide also for some more info they said I have to update my firmware which I don't know what to do and I need more memory I only have 256mb but it works fine because I usually don't do anything while its burning cause of all the coasters I'm on like 13 right now its pretty bad luckily I go them off of the internet so they were cheaper. But I took you guyes' advice and changed the program I'm not using Nero 6 anymore I'm using Clone DVD I'm not sure what version but I'll find that out in A sec and so far it has been working it burned 2 dvds already and hasn't messed up but ill c ill keep ya posted
Cheers -
I've had that problem before when I had a problem with my aspi layer.
try this http://radified.com/ASPI/forceaspi.htmmember since 1843 -
Ghettorapboy,
Glad to hear you are having success with another burning program - good job, man!
Post back and let us know how you make out. If you are able to make 14 straight good DVD's, consider the problem to have been either Nero or your ASPI layer.
Cheers!
