  1. hi can anyone tell me why everytime I use filters in VirtualDub and save video as .avi and play it the sound is terrible its playing like 1 frame a sec cant understand this, but if i just increase audio and dont do anything to video it plays back fine. this is happening on all movies I try to fix am I doing something wrong then, as i use hsv filter, brightness filters etc

    Bacuse your cpu is trying to process the video through the filters in real time and simply can't keep up. Try killing extra background processes (look at the tray, for starters), and don't try to run anything else at the same time.

    Or use avisynth instead. Most of the filters run 2 - 3 times faster than the equivalent virtualdub filters.
