Ok, just joined here.. I have a problem that is really gettin me frustrated, cannot seem to get around it...

    I have a 4:30:00 long mpeg2 .mpg file, specs are 352x240 at 29.97fps, 1923kbps, 2ch audio 48k sample and 128k bitrate. Total size is 4.21gb

When I try to author this mpg onto a dvd I get the full video and audio into the VOBs but the IFO only indexes 2:15:00 of it. VOBs play fine on the computer, but will not go past 2:15 on a console...

    HALLLLPPPPPPP!!

wtf is wrong? I have used 3-4 different author proggies, and all do the same.

    Thanks for any advice...

Unfortunately I haven't used any of those, but dvdauthor is supposed to be pretty good. Is it possible there's an error in the source file? Try opening the source file in VirtualDub-MPEG2 and scan for errors.

could it be that it was joined together from more than one part? if so than gop timecodes are messed up. dvd-lab can fix it, but it sucks..... and i don't know what else will.

hmm... yes it was joined from 3 different cuts.. but there was no joint at the 2:15 problem area.

kinda strange that its exactly half the length where it bombs...

i`ll give dvd-lab another go and see what happens.. this thing is p*ssin me off...

wouldnt a complete conversion from mpg1 to mpg2 re-align that stuff? hmm i duno im no expert here

in dvdlab pro under tools try 'rewrite gop timecodes" before authoring and see if it helps. use a copy of the file as the changes are permenent.

ok i nabbed dvd-lab pro (gotta love trialware)

did the GOP reindex, did a test on it first, it went thru first but the progress bar went up to 2:25 then it went blank after that. Did a full reindex, then tried a test again, and it did the same thing.... GOPs displayed fine on the preview window before I did anything tho.. who know lol..

im makin some menus n crap now, guess i`ll let it run overnite and see what happens.. sigh..

    tnx d00ds
