Hello, ok what is the best way to export a captured video or something else from premiere to After Effects and back? And still preserve the best quality? Is there some sort of "adobe exchange file"
    Thanks

    Hi DJMartin,

I don't use After Effects, so I can't answer your question directly. However, you may find the answer in one or more of these places:

    1) The User Guide for both / either of the applications.
    2) The Adobe User Forums
    3) The Adobe Support Main Page
    4) The www.wrigleyvideo.com/videotutorial tutorials and forums.

    Good luck...

Depends upon--1.What you want to exchange, 2.Which versions you have.

Most recent versions (PremierePro2, AE7) should be able to exchange just about anything, incl. edits, compositing layers, ~FX. But most don't have brand new...

Older apps, say Premiere 6.0 & AE5.5: Media Files--OK (std.AVI/QT, WAV/AIF, still pix of many flavors). Only way you could swap edits, comp layering, FX settings would be by exporting "EDL" session file and using 3rd party conversion tools (= $$$).

Premiere FX plugins can usually be also used in AE, but AE plugins can't be used in Premiere. Photoshop plugins can be used in both, but neither of their plugins can be used in Photoshop.

    Ok, thank you all.
I have Adobe Premiere Pro 1.5 and After Effects 6.5 It is mostely dv video captured in Premiere which I want to export to AE and apply some effects and 3d animation. And from there back to Premiere where I shall do some editing and sound mixing.

On the Debugmode FrameServer web page AE is not listed, only Premiere. Will it still work, it seams like a smart program.
