  1. hello

i would like to get information on how to burn Multisession DVD.
for example, if i have downloaded 1 episode from internet and i want to watch it on TV i have to burn that episode on DVD, and if i download another episode lets say next week then i need to burn that one also on DVD< but the problem is that i can't view this new episode on my DVD player, only the old one.

is it possible to burn these files individualy without having to worry if i can view the new burned episode on my DVD?

    Hi Sance,

The problem you are describing is not as simple as just burning a multi-session DVD. To burn a multi-session DVD simply means that you can add more raw data to a DVD at a later stage. I should think all burning software offers this option. Certainly Nero has a little tick box in the final options box, just before you hit the BURN button.

Now, that procedure is not the same as adding multiple titles to a DVD which is playable on a standalone DVD player. For this process, you need to prepare all of the titles you want on the final dvd, before you burn it. You need to 'author' the DVD with a simple menu giving you access to each individual file. You may also need to convert your files before you can author them or you may wish to let your authoring software do all the converting for you aswell.

My best advice is to check out as many of the related tutorials you can, using the menu on the left of the screen.
The subject is very big and there are many ways to skin this particular cat. Everyone has their own preference for which method to use, which programs are the best and produce the best results etc..

Hope this info clears up your confusion anyway. Start reading now!

  3. DVD-video fromat does not have multi-session option.

Use DVD+R/W, and re-author in the new video onto a HD folder, then reburn.

Many Divx/Xvid capable players will only see the last session burned as well. In short, not a good idea at all.
