  1. is there a Divx player that doesnt require you to install any files?

    i.e. just an executable?

    Nope. You must install proper codecs in order to display video files.

    Yes. I also do not know of a single player that will run without installation files. why do you need it?

    Try VLC Media Player. It has it's own codecs. You're probably looking for a player that can be included on a disc to play the Divx/Xvid automatically without installing. I don't believe VLC will do that, but it does have versions for most OS platforms.

    mplayer is just one file and supports everything.

    videolan, kmplayer...not one file but doesn't require any codecs.

    mplayer requires no install and has built in decoders/splitters for most stuff and can load external dll's/ax's. Doesn't support DivX menu's, chapters, etc. though. Default options can be set in the config file like fullscreen, number of audio channels to output, etc. When compiled with cpu runtime detection it will run on any CPU to.
