    First.... the catches are different, the satas have a larger cache, but more important... the data transfer rates are higher for the sata than your standard ATA's... especially the sata2 and when they come out with the the sata 3 and 4.... that why the sata tend to install faster when installing windows from a cd.... plus overall things are little faster because of the faster transfer rates of the sata's ...

  4. Well I've seen people building a new computer that forced the processor in whether or not it wanted to go. Turned a slightly bent pin into a pretzel.

    How many computers I've fixed that were built with parts off of the internet and just won't work.

    Had one yesterday, Customer bought a used IBM, Crushed in the shipping, So he put it into a old Compaq case. shame he didn't use standoffs. But once I set the drives properly and unbolted it from the metal it was bolted too, everything worked... Lucky him.

    waheed, $5 to 10 yah could be, not a good high quality keyboard though or MS optical mouse.
