Hi: I have a portable HDD with USB2. I want a player that can read MPEG files from the HDD and output to a TV (component output or HDMI or DVI). Anyone have suggestions?
I have seen many players like the D-Link DSM320. But they provide more than just reading from a HDD.

I found http://www.rapsody.de/produkte/rsh100-1.htm , but I myself have no experience with it.
According to this link, the Rapsody RSH-100 has audio/video outputs. It can playback
- video (MPEG-4 like DivX, XviD, AVI + MPEG1/2 like MPG, ISO, IFO),
- VOB (DVD including menu), IDX & SUB-Untertitel,
- music (MP3, OGG Vorbis, WMA, WAV),
- photos (JPEG)
from an optional built-in HDD or from another connected USB-HDD.
Just to be clear, are you looking for a device that you can attach your USB drive to that in turn would attach to the TV so you can play your files?
If that's the case, you may want to look at devices like the TVIX M5000, Pixelmagic device and others. These devices allow you to install a hard drive but usually also have a USB port that you can use to attach an external hard drive. You can find out more about these devices here:
Also, there are a few DVD players out there now that have USB ports attached to them. The Philips DVP5960/37 (available at Best Buy and I think Wal-Mart) is one and it is pretty inexpensive. I'd check the manual online and make sure it could accept a hard drive as an input, but if it can it'd be a cheap, simple solution to your problem.
