    Has anyone used his camcorder to backup files on the PC? And I mean data files, not video.
    I've google'd around and it seems that there are a few backup programs available.

    Any opinions?

    I've read about this before. There are a few issues, the first being speed, it is slow. Second is the amount of data that can be stored, which wasn't very much. Third, it isn't cost effective.

    The first choice would be another HD dedicated to backups. Second would be DVD, third would be a computer based tape drive.
