    hello all i would like to take screenshots of a video in quicktime so i can make parts of it into gif, the vido is a .rm file type does anyone know how i can get the file to play in quciktime, or a program thats will allow me to take screenshots of each frame so can send them to my photoshop?

    Not aware of any rm quick time plugins. Try Media Player Classic or mplayer.

    well i was able to skip 1 frame at a time, but i can take a screen shot of it, do you know if theres a option on the player (or another player) that can disable video aceleration?

    nm i found the save image option

    it keeps going back to the frame i puase on after each snapshot

    You could use AVISynth to open it in VDubMod, then save out all frames as images. I'd still probably go with mplayer, it can actually output directly to animated gif.

    i cant figure out where to download the mplayer from, I got dizzy hoping back in forth.

    Well you can find my windows compiles at: http://celticdruid.no-ip.com/xvid/

    mplayer.exe -vo help for a list of outputs. png or tga I guess if you want images to convert or gif89a for an animate gif. You also need to add -vf scale since image output requires RGB. Also -ao null if you don't want to listen to the audio.

    Oh yeah for some rm formats you need the rm dll's from the mplayer site.
