I just bought a DVD Recorder, brand Recco (that some people say it is Ellion or Hyundai, really) model DVR-535C and I recorded some DVD+R's taken from VHS. They all were finalized in the DVD recorder and played fine, even in the computer, but when I tried to backup the DVDs to edit them, I couldn't.
- DVD Shrink says it has an "Invalid DVD Navigation Structure" and can't continue. Didn't even show the files.
- DVD Decrypter showed a lot of Packet Header Warnings but still did the job. Problem is that the results are not good. The video has some lines in the right side as those from interference and the audio is interrupted and doesn't sound good.
What other tool can I use to backup the DVD?
Note. The DVD has two directories: VIDEO_RM and VIDEO_TS.
VIDEO_RM has 4 files, 3 named VIDEO_RM and the last one, CHPTDF.DAT.

DVD Decrypter probably didn't add any lines or anything else. It just transfers what is there. It sounds like the DVD is corrupted and possibly the format is non standard.
First thing I would suspect is your media. Have you tried different brands? Bad media could cause all those problems.
If you want to recover what you have, DVD Decrypter is a fairly good tool. ISOBuster might recover a little more, but it looks like your DVD is damaged and you may not get all the files off of it in one piece.
BTW, a computer software player can ignore problematic discs that a hardware player would choke on. Try playing them on a software player like PowerDVD or similar that emulates a hardware player.
And try some different DVD media. -
Thanks for the reply.
I don't think there is a problem with the media because it is the same one that I use for DVD backups and it has worked fine so far. Even tried a different one with same results. And I use PowerDVD for watching it on the PC.
So I tried DVD Decrypter once again and probably there was a problem with the menu format, I selected all the items except the menu. As before, there were Header warnings, but I just ignored them.
Then I used TMPGEnc MPEG Editor and selected the videos. It showed duplicated here but I just select the first set of the videos and it worked fine.
So everything is working fine. Still I find it odd all these problems but I can live with that.
Thanks
Fernando
