  1. Strange , haven't had this happen before. Am trying to combine a 2 part mpeg movie (as I've done countless times before) into one complete DVD project. But whne I am done I only have 1/2 the movie even though log is indicating that it processed/merged both parts. Log attached

Can your retry with cd1_S2D.mpg, cd2_S2D.mpg (they won't need reprocessing) and this time keep an eye on what happens. Does the merging take place? Does cd1_S2D_VTS.mpg get created and does its size make sense?

  3. that is just it - it doesn't seem to produce the cd2_S2D.mpg. After completion of this project, in my working folder I have the two source files, cd1 (813,271 KBs), cd2 (797,271KBs), and
cd1_S2D_VTS_PTS.mpg (908,796KBs). Each source cd is approx 48minutes long. The finished
movie is only 48 minutes long (part one only)

  4. I finally ended up joining the two parts into one, & then processing it in S2D. I've done two other
mpeg-> DVD conversions since with no issues. Not sure what what wrong with the problem child.
I am also noticing on this latest version, when I attempt to save setting for "current project only"
it asks to save the project, but when I select "yes" it give error message about having to use save in main toolbar. Why is this?

I think that second file is broken....

Because you have yet to save the project.

Didn't ever get this error in earlier builds. It asks me to save it, I try to by answering yes, & then it pops the error. Was this changed in most recent version?

well basically if you have a project which has previously been saved (or a project which has been reloaded) then when you change the settings those changes are used as they are in memory. But if you then close everything down and reopen the project those changes are lost. However if you apply the settings to the project and then save the project the changes will persist for that project.

It is not an error it is a warning.

  8. correct : a warning.
I load in the two files , go to options, select setting for just this project, and save it as such, which is where I got the warning saying I need to use Save As in main toolbar.
Hmm...using your observations above, I will watch my actions more closely next time to see what I may be doing that is worng
    Thanks!

What you are doing is fine.

If you are NOT saving the project (to reuse later) then:

    followed by

    is correct.

If you answer "Yes" to the last dialog then you will get the warning IF you have not already save the project...
