What's the easiest way to convert a small RealMedia .rm movie file to a quicktime player compatible format?

    Thanks in advance!

    LOL!
    he said "easiest".

unfortunately, my friend, that is not often the case.
the "easiest" I found was to use Snapz Pro X, and
capture the footage as it played in Real Player 10 to the HD.
but even then, with so many streaming interrruptions
( Real Media is notoriously buggy in buffering, even on
Cable modem) I still had to edit in QT after it was all done.

If you have the RM clip locally, i.e. it's not streaming, then ffmpegX can convert it. I never had success with streaming content, although the decoder tries to read the rtsp stream from .ram files.
Not everyone feels ffmpegX is exactly easy, and Real support is even an additional install with some hassles (Helix libraries). But it can be done.

i've used ffmpeg in the past and it works quite well, but the quality is poor and the files max out at 15fps...
