  1. I recently was impressed with the subtitles that fade in and out on the UK DTS edition of John Woo's HARD BOILED. Are there any subtitling programs out there that can do this? At the moment Im subtitling my movies in DVD Lab Pro, but I think fading subs look nice. Is it possible to do this in any program, and if so, can I then import them into DVD Lab Pro for authoring?

    Thanks everyone.

To do subtitles like that, or the subs in the recent Nightwatch, they would have to be done in a compositing or editing program and become part of the video themselves. DVD Lab Pro cannot do that type of sub. Were these switchable subs in Hardboiled, or permanent subs ?

  3. These were optional subtitles, not a burned in set. Impressive stuff.

  5. Do any standalone programs do them, so I can import the streams into DVD Lab Pro?

  7. What makes you think that? (Not meant to sound antagonistic! )

because in the description it says :

    Text and times related

    * "Sort subtitles" to sort all the subtitles according to their start time.
    * "Combine subtitles" to make all the selected subtitles become only one (for eg. "- Hi!" and "- Hey!!!" to "- Hi!|- Hey!!!").
    * Visual effects with the texts and times of the subtitles.
    * Possibility to mark subtitles for later review (and of course unmark them) and read Subtitle Report Files (*.srf) generated by ViPlay.

    Cheers, BJ.
