Converting avi to PSP - audio problems

Hi guys,
I know that the audio sync when converting avi to mpg4 psp seems to be a problem for a lot of people. I havent managed a direct conversion, having to convert to a quicktime file first. however, this only seems to work for some avi files. others slip audio whatever i do (infact, just converting from an avi to any file format seems to slip the audio - i have seen that others have also had this same problem). Just wanted to know if anyone has managed to crack this problem yet, or if anyone is working on it. I am not too technical (i am learning all about file conversion as i go!), but i would love to get to the bottom of this problem and understand why this seems to happen.

It is in my to-do list. This seem to appear only with some source formats and framerates. PSP H264 should always work fine (enabling "Decode with Quicktime").
