I converted a DVD with CUCUsofts AVI to DVD program and I got it to play on my PS2 but the way it acts is strange....It will skip scenes and skip back and sometimes have no sound in parts....What I did was take a AVI movie and converted it to DVD with the CuCuSoft AVI to DVD program then after it finished I took that folder with the VOBs and stuff and burned it with Nero... Did I mess up anywhere? Also the quality was blurred too...like when you save a picture to JPEG and it gets all fuzzy....
Thank You!!

The jerkiness and sound issue could be a result of the conversion (bad file or conversion software), or the media that was used.
You can try another program such as avi2dvd (or many others, just look in the How To - Convert section, and choose avi to dvd)
The bluriness is most likely the result of converting a small resolution, low quality file, in which case there is no fix. Even a decent resolution file compressed into a small file (a 90 minute movie converted to a 700MB avi file for example) will appear blurry and pixelated, especially in fast motion scenes, when shown on a TV (as opposed to a window on your pc screen).Google is your Friend -
Avi to dvd :
You can't beat old tool's , most new tool's do have issue's .
Consider frameserving avi from virtualdub to bbmpeg , this will guarantee the mpeg2 stream to be perfect .
Convert mp2 to ac3 using besweet .
Multiplex m2v and ac3 using ifoedit .
Burn using nero , dvddecrypter , imagetools , ghostburn , or any other suitable program you are used too .
You will get all the info on these process's by looking at guide's I have uploaded here , and more , if you feel the need to go wild , like add menu's , create you own dvd menu button's ... more coming soon .
Jerkiness could also be a sign of poor media , sony unit len's issue .
Bluriness can be caused via trying to convert a smaller resolution video to full d1 resolution , or the other , that get's missed is low video bitrate , may look fine in the avi , but consider it has to be encoded for dvd to an mpeg2 format , and this is where low video bitrate in an avi is your worst enemy .
The only way around this ... check for guide's written by myself here online ... I am about to upload soon a guide dealing with download clip's of 320x240 resolution for dvd burning .
Consider burning to dvd+r for any console unit , as this is the prefered media for them ... dvd-r is compatable with most player's .
------------------------------------------------
The only other issue that come's into it is framerate conversion .
From test's , you'd do well to grab a copy of ulead video studio se , either 7 , 8 or 9 , in ebay , cheap , and get many other bonus's as well .
It is one program I have that has never crashed , and framerate conversion's are perfect , never an issue .
