  1. i have an avi file that i am trying to encode using tmpgnc, but when it picks it up it doesn't pick up the audio......it uses ac3 for audio . i have the ac3 filter on my pc installed and the necessary codec, so how can i fix this problem.

    AC3 Filter is a directshow filter. You would need to open the file via dshow for it to work, so crank the dshow priority in the VFAPI settings or install fccHandler's AC3 ACM codec.

    Or optionally, you can open the .AVI in VirtualDubMpeg2, and save it out as an uncompressed .WAV file..
    When you encode in Tmpgenc, simply use the .WAV as the audio source, rather than the .AVI's audio....

    Note that this version cannot decompress AC-3 audio.
    If you need AC-3 support, try my AC-3 ACM Codec.
    If TMPGEnc can't open the audio, then VirtualDubMpeg2 won't be able to decompress it.
