I agree that LCD monitors are much better for standard computer work (office, coding, browsing etc). Much easier on the eyeys.

But if I haven't found an LCD TV that I would want to watch movies on, why would I buy one to edit or process video on ? So I still have a CRT.

Me neither... Only some latest hi-end plasma TVs looks good.

For editing and proccessing you don't need a perfect screen. For watching something yes. Those are seperate things IMO

What about CRT vs LCD as far as b/w - colour photo editing in photoshop is concerned ? I always thought a decent trinitron CRT was necessary for that. Can an LCD replace the crt for that purpose ?

No. Unless you want to spend over $3000 for a 17". LCDs are horrid with blacks. They show black as gray.

For colours, LCD screens are indeed bad. I rarelly do colour correction myself, so I tend to forget that!

I've said it many times and I say it again:
the cons much outweigh the pros, thus there is only one place where LCDs belong to: laptops, notebooks, etc. low-power & portable toys.

Anything that has to do with motion pictures use either CRT or plasma, there is no point including LCDs in such discussions at all.
I thought its obvious for video enthusiast and professionals alike.
