Do you think that LCD/Plasma TVs play back interlaced footage better than the quality that can be acheived by de-interlacing???
What do you all think?

Depends on the quality of the deinterlacer of the TV set as compared to the quality of the deinterlacer you're planning to use in software. In general, I think I'd leave it interlaced and let the TV take care of it, especially since not all that many people know about the best software deinterlacers.
