  1. When I open a new MPEG2 file, it closes the current one. I was wondering, is there a way to add to rather than replacing.

In virtualmod , you use a script to concat mpeg's one after the other so virtualmod read's them as a single file .
This should only be done where the mpeg's are of known matching type's in video format , audio , and of course anything related to vbr or cbr .

    Under tool's .
    Script editor .

If mpeg's are on C:\ , and name's are one , two , three , four , and five , then script is

    c:\one.mpg
    c:\two.mpg
    c:\three.mpg
    c:\four.mpg
    c:\five.mpg

Save this script to save location as where the mpeg.s are ...

Name it mymovie , keep the name under 8 chararter's .
At the end of the name you must add the extension ".lst" , so name would be mymovies.lst .

Back in virtualmod , sellect open file , change the sellection to "all files" .

    Browse to c:\ , sellect mymovie.lst file , and your done .

The only issue is concating file's of different :

    Video , ie 352x288 , 704x576 , 320x240 , ect ... not a good idea .
    Audio , different type's , mp2 , ac3 , vbr's , cbr's ... mixing these will cause audio resync issue's .
    Framerate's , 23 vs 25 vs 29 ... again , not a good idea .

    -------------------------------------------------------

Of course virtualdub/mod dose not write mpeg format , for that you will need to re-transcode the video .

Under file , sellect frameserve ... all this video can then be sent to bbmpeg , which will encode into various mpeg format's , and has many advanced setting's .

How to use the framserver component , to bbmpeg :

  4. Thank you so much. Yes, the MPEG2 files are from the same DVD. I used DVD Shrink to extract a couple dozen 1-3 minute clips. When I open the folder using VDMod to convert to avi, it shows them as individual files. In the past I would have to open each file one at a time.
