    How long do you think it will take before we read about the HDCP/DRM being defeated? My guess is less than a month. Also I bet that a lot people that buy the new players are going to have problem with the players HDMI handshake with their display because of HDCP. What are your thoughts on this?

    Me thinks there are enough talents out there competing to be "HDTV-Jon", so it's only a matter of time, yes. But 1 mont? 6 months? Who knows. Not me.

    But will it be a software/firmware option?? Or will it only be possible with a hardware device to block the signal? If it was a programmable hack than the applications would be enormous. But if it was only possible with a physical interrupter device then it might not be as useful (until the price of the "defeater" drops and is sold at retail stores).

    it will be software...can't sell illlegal stuff in stores...
