  1. The DV only captuer up to 4gb then split into another file, is there any setting that stops it from doing that?

maybe because of the fat32 4gb limit. or do you have ntfs harddrive partitions?

  3. it's NTFS already. DMF captures it with no problem at all, but VS7 seperates the files in to 4gb segments

Either a setting or you need to upgrade. Current version is 9.
ULead VS made massive improvements between 7 and 8.

  5. I've been using Ulead VS7se with Canopus-110 in recording tv shows. A recorded 30-minute tv show comes out to one chunk of 6.5gb avi file. An hour of recording turns out about 13gb, 25gb avi for a 2-hr movie and VS7se never split them into smaller files. I checked my settings and can't find any that indicates limiting the saved avi to 4gb. I just want to say that in my experience Ulead VS7se (at least my copy) does not split avi file larger than 4gb.

Points to FAT32 limitation unrelated to Ulead VS.

  7. I mentioned that both DMF3 and Nerovision capture the video just fine. Both are capable to produce file size larger than 10GB in 1 single avi file.

Only VS7 splits the files, so it's kinda weird

  8. the problem remain unsolved. All my drives are formated NTFS, but the capture program refuse to work with files larger than 4gb, what gives.
