FFMPEG need more Codecs?

All of the video clips I load into FFMPEG will preview, and play (Making me think that all codecs are in place however......)

Only about 1/4 of the output presets actually work, when trying to process video.

Most of them, export a 0kb file, and show "Finished" in a succesfull manner, with no "Error info" that 0kb file, obviously not a valid video file.

A small few presets yield several different error messages, while 1/4 of them work beautifully.

I'd say the bulk of the presets, create a "Successful" 0 Kb file, that does nothing.

Oddly enough, in 1 scenario, I'm able to produce a divx output file correctly, however, using the same source file, I am unable to output a dv file, which I would think I shouldn't need a Codec for, with FCP, and QT 7 Pro installed on this machine.

Which presets cause the 0kb file? Which ones work well?

I had a similar problem when I first started using ffmpegX, but once I figured out which settings I needed, it worked like a charm...

I have been running into the same type of prolems. One of them I fixed by adding the DivX stuff. Many just leave me shaking my head in confusion. I think a new FAQ might be needed that addresses these things that are not covered (as far as I can tell) in the current FAQ(s). This would cover the questions that keep popping up on the forum. Just an idea...
