    Hi!

I usually record soccer games from tv with my dvd recorder. Sometimes i need to put them in AVI format, usually 700MB for each part of the game. I've tried many programs but as i have to cut commercials, i use Fairuse Wizard. I like this program a lot but i have some doubts

First, and keeping in mind that i have to cut the parts of the video that i dont want, is there any other software that i can use? I didn't found one, but...

Second, I want to make the video with good quality, and here's the big problem... One thing I noticed is that soccer games are not easy to compress, i think, cause of the movement.

So, guys... can someone give me advices? I just want to know, if using fairuse wizard, what options should i choose in the codec settings. If there is any other software, that can cut commercials, it would be great.

Just another thing, i use virtualdubmod a lot but in this specific case its worthless for me cause i dont know how to configure the xvid/divx coded to make a good compression with the specific MB space i want.

Thanks to everyone and sorry for my english.

  2. I think you should get good quality putting two 45-minute halves on two 700 MB files?

You could stop the recording at halftime or split the file afterwards with your dvd recorder.

Then use AutoGk to encode to xvid.

After it is done, you can use virtualdubmod to trim, split, cut, or join the files in direct copy mode.

    Thanks

I put 50-52 minutes in a 700MB file yes. The problem is that i want the final size to be 700MB so how can I compress and then trim to the specific size? Well, anyway, I made some tests so I think im getting there.
