  1. I just downloaded Avidemux v2.1.2 and I'm editing an AVI file that is using Divx 5.0 Codec on Win XP. I have the latest Divx codec installed and the video plays fine in a player, just not inside of Avidemux. It will also generate the new AVI file just fine with the audio.

Does anyone know how to fix this problem? It's hard to edit the videos without audio.
    TIA

AVIDemux uses internal decoders so having DivX installed should make no difference, besides that fact that it is just a video decoder.

Anyway, I just had a look and I don't know about v2.1.2, but in 2.2 the audio is set to dummy by default. You need to change it to win32. Then you should get playback.

  3. Yes, that did it. I don't see why they had a default of "Dummy" for windows software when there's a Win32 option. At least it's working. Thanks for the help.
