Ok guys..which processor is the fastest...

I'm currently running a 1.4ghz Athalon that is pulling about 1.55ghz right now....

With Flask and DivX 4.11, I'm getting about 12-15fps encoding.

When doing a standard 1.5/2 hr. movie..I'm looking about 4-6 hours...

I've seen people doing a DivX in 2 hours flat even with 2pass...so my question is..

I'm getting ready to upgrade....what's the best one to get for video encoding??

Also..since compression is a numbers game, which ever one has the fastest math-co I guess would win right?

well i don't know what the best CPU is for video compression, i might be able to help you still. i do alot of gaming on computers, and have alot of experience with computers. all computers work with numbers as sytem code, so i don't think the math co proccessor doesn't have much to do with what you're trying to do. i'd go with the best cpu you can afford, then over clock this shit out of it. try a socket a board, either asus or a-bit. as a general rule i prefer AMD, but that is up to you. anything around 1.8 to 2.0 is good, and then see how high you can overclock it.... i just made a very long story short, but if u need more help get me on aim: XxRedFactionxX

Actually, the math-co has EVERYTHING to do with it...you are crunching using Algorithms, and that's 100% math also based on the DCT.

What I wanted to hear was what EVERYBODY ELSE IS GETTING OUT OF THEIR SYSTEM !!

yes alot of people here compress video but not alot of people responde to dupe threads. there is ALOT of help here but it won't always be served to you on a platter and sometimes to get help you have to help yourself. like i said try searching next time.
